Some Shopify businesses should move everything to Whop. Others should move only part of it. Here's how to tell which one you are.

Good fit for a full move

Digital products, courses, memberships, coaching, communities, software access and services. Whop handles checkout, access and payouts for these in one place.

Physical products

If you ship physical goods, decide carefully. Shopify may stay your storefront and fulfillment system. Look at checkout options before moving anything. See Shopify and Whop checkout.

Can't turn on Shopify Payments?

If Shopify Payments isn't available to you, or your payouts are paused, Whop is a separate processor you can apply to. Read Shopify payouts on hold.

Migration steps

  1. List every product, price and subscription.
  2. Recreate digital products and plans on Whop.
  3. Complete Whop business verification.
  4. Point your links and buttons to Whop checkout.
  5. Email existing customers their new access or re-subscribe link.
  6. Keep Shopify open for refunds and disputes on past orders.

Costs

Frequently asked questions

Does Shopify list Whop as a built-in payment provider?
Check Shopify's current payment provider list before planning around it. Don't assume a native integration. We confirm this on the call.

Do Shopify subscriptions move automatically?
Whop's automated migration tool currently covers Stripe. Shopify subscribers are moved by hand with re-subscribe links.
